Big Momma`s Fine Foods in Monroe

I love what I got which was the fried chicken and the mac and cheese the atmosphere was nice the servers were nice and helpful. However my boyfriend's food wasn't that good he got the gumbo and the rice and it tasted soupy and watery. We are traveling though so it was a nice Homestyle feel good place to stop at. If I'm ever in the area again I will stop.

Great great food and service! Yes it has a small dining room, but service is quick and staff is excellent. Food is top shelf!!! I wanted to lick the plate it was so good.... But I minded my manners and did not. They also do a brisk amount of take out business!!! You are subject to see a who's who of Ouachita parish eating here.

Menu changes daily, but I posted the schedule to google maps.Wonderful soul food. Expect to spend about $10 flat and have more food than any normal human can finish! The place gets crowded to arrive early.

We were traveling through Monroe and this restaurant was recommended. I am so glad we stopped! The staff was very welcoming and helpful and the food was excellent. Stop here with an open heart and an empty stomach and you will be very happy you did.

Great southern style food. Always super friendly. Great portion sizes as well. Fried Pork Chop is one of my favorites. You can call ahead to find out the daily special.

This place is amazing. It's perfect when you are on a road trip because it's buffet style. They serve you and we were out in less than 20 min. You have to get the catfish. So good!!!! Less than $10 a plate gets you double portion sizes of most restaurants. You get a meat and two heaping sides. We will be back! Friendly service. Top notch staff.

Big Momma cooks the best food in Monroe. My favorite is fried chicken dipped in gravy, but the ribs are great too. Hot water cornbread is incredible. They have some great looking cake, but with such a huge plate of food, who could possibly save room for dessert?

Fantastic authentic Southern Food for the soul. Everyone here is so friendly and helpful and the portions they serve are nice and large.If you love a good old down home southern meal you won't leave here disappointed... or hungry!

Anyone that rates this place under 5 stars has issues. This is some of the best home cooked style food I have had in a long time. Every one in the building - staff and customers were very freindly. The food looks and taste amazing, so much flavor. The rolls melt in your mouth, the fried chicken is the best I've ever had. I've never even herd of hot water cornbread but wow was it good. The tables fill up fast so be ready for a wait, but it is well worth it. We will definitely be back

Wonderful comfort food for the Southern soul with a warmth and welcome that still has me smiling several hundred miles down the road. My mom and I popped in during a rainstorm; we were thoroughly tired, wet, hungry, and a fair bit grumpy after nearly 8 solid hours of driving. Huge helpings of ribs, okra and tomatoes, fried chicken, and baked beans were lovingly loaded onto our plates while another lovely lady fussed over our drinks. The food was fantastic, and much of it brought back memories of flavors I haven't had since I sat in my my great grandmother's kitchen - many, many years ago. I'll be driving back through with my husband in a few days, and we're arranging our trip so we can stop back by.

The food was great. I'm from BATON ROUGE LA and this was my first time eating from Big Momma's. It was very tasty.

Friendly staff and reasonably priced. Everything was well seasoned and there’s enough left over to take home. Really good cornbread. Mm Mm Good. I will be returning to Big Momma’s !

The food was amazing!!! Got huge portions for a really reasonable price! The fried chicken was amazing! The cornbread is a must have!!! You get beef tips in your gravy! I can’t say enough about how good Big Mommas is!!! I highly recommend it.

Today I had the fry fish with potato salad and cake, I tried the beef tips and fried chicken with gravy, cornbread , well so far it has been outstanding with great flavors, everything really really good.!

Just left Big Momma's, full and satisfied! I recommend this spot if you want tasty soul food at a reasonable price. Must try items - the fried chicken, the hot water bread and the kool-aid!!!

No need to look for the secret ingredient honey, when she's literally just putting all that love into it.Local or Traveling. Come on in and grab a tray, because it's time to enjoy a good old southern meal.Clean environment, quick serving and family friendly. If you're lucky enough you might run into Momma herself, That alone is a treat in itself!

I had the catfish, green beans, baked beans Mac and cheese, corn bread and the hot water corn bread.... I couldn’t even think about the pound cake I was so stuffed. bring an appetite and a smile!! Big Momma’s is amazing!! Super friendly staff!!

The fried chicken, mashed potatoes w gravy, greens, and hot water cornbread were fantastic! Supposedly everything here is good and I can imagine it is. Didn't get desert because I'm STUFFED! Very friendly owner and staff. Feels like your a regular the first time you walk in. If you're anywhere close and enjoy soul food / southern food this is your place. A great treat.

My husband loves this place. Have never eaten it yet. They charge a lil to much for what you can cook at home or what you can eat at momma house on Sunday but I guess it's ok. They usually keep a crowd so hey...go for it.
